Bentley Continental GT

The Bentley Continental GT, first unveiled in 2003, is a two-door coupe that truly lives up to its Grand Tourer label. The Bentley Continental GT's large size and luxurious undertones mask a powerful engine seldom found in luxury passenger vehicles.

Never before has a Bentley come out packing an engine as powerful nor featuring driving power as sophisticated as those found on the Continental GT. In many ways, it signifies a marriage between luxury driving and true sports car performance.

With many entrants in the luxury coupe arena over the last few years, including such notables as the Aston Martin DB9 and the Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG, many agree that the Bentley Continental GT is still the defining car of its class.

Features

The Bentley Continental GT is powered by a 6L Volkswagen-trademark W12 engine with dual turbochargers. It generates a usable power of 552 bhp at 6100 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm at 1600 rpm. The Continental GT runs on a permanent four-wheel drive, the first Bentley to do so, distributing power across the entire car for better driving control.

The Bentley Continental GT can run at a top speed of 190 mph, come to a standstill from 60 mph in just under 115 feet and boasts a 0 to 60 mph acceleration of 4.8 seconds - an amusing display of power from a 5300-lb frame! The gearbox is a six-speed automatic with instant-override paddle-shifting controls mounted behind the steering wheel.

The sightline of the Bentley Continental GT is optimal with wide and large windows at both the front and back. The Continental GT comes with bespoked wheels in either 19 or 20 inches with a choice of alloy or chrome finish.

Space is uncompromising with ample legroom for everyone in its 2x2 seating and king-sized trunk space, a result of optimal engine configuration and the fuel tank fitted under the floor. The cabin of the Bentley Continental GT embraces true luxury defined craftsmanship with premium grade leather covers, front and rear consoles, and various areas framed with handcrafted unbleached wooden veneer. All this made even more luscious with numerous chrome-accented switches and brushed aluminum highlights.

The Bentley Continental GT features high-end technology including a DVD Satellite Navigation system, Bluetooth rSAP telephone system, keyless entry and ignition, multi-zone climate control, on-board infotainment system, and heated seats. Little is left to be satisfied for the technologically-inclined, save for a conspicuously missing satellite radio system.

Performance

The Bentley Continental GT pretty much lives up to any hype. The Continental GT is both is a sports coupe capable of four-wheel drifts and impressive speed displays, and a grand tourer providing elegant cruises and serene high-speed travel.

At a $167,000 price tag, the Bentley Continental GT creates plenty of expectations and delivers in every way imaginable.
